When the weather gets warm, your pet might be tempted to go for a swim!

Before you let them, check if the water is murky, foamy, or has a paint-like appearance. Those are signs of toxic algal blooms.

Symptoms of blue-green algae poisoning can include diarrhea, vomiting, drooling, difficulty breathing, disorientation or confusion, and convulsions or seizures. If you notice any of these symptoms in your pet, or if your pet has swum or drank from affected water, please contact our clinic immediately for assistance.

Wishing you and your family a warm, safe summer.
